In December 2019, Tanzania Natural Resources Forum (TNRF) hosted the 4th National CBNRM Forum in Arusha, Tanzania, to discuss ways to involve communities in tackling illegal wildlife trade.

The Forum bought together over 50 participants from the government, NGOs, academia and community representatives, to provide a platform for information exchange and sharing experiences, and to agree on a way forward to ensure the success of CBNRM in Tanzania.

Dialogue focused on challenges to changing community attitudes to wildlife as well as what sort of solutions would be best placed to ensure that communities feel valued, involved and, most importantly, benefit from wildlife.
